Surf Art & Flow
Is surfing an art or a sport?
Surfing history shows us that Creativity, Surfing and Art have forever had a connection, through creating images, photography, music and movement.
Some say that's its because creativity can be found in the stillness, flow and inspiration that we find in surfing.
Let’s take these five days to explore this connection of surfing, art and flow states together.
What the Surf Coaching looks like on our Gather Weeks

The complete intensive
longboarding course
2 day course
Short, Intense, and Fun. Using Images, video and demos on land. Then taking that into the water following drills to improve while having fun. All that while receiving one on one tips from our experienced coaches.
We Are Mobile
We pick the best surf spots for the day within our permissions. So we will never be bound to surf unfriendly conditions. (unless the conditions are terrible everywhere we will then switch the surf for something more beneficial)
4 group sessions
Mad for it we will surf until we have spaghetti arms! (We won't enforce this don't worry!) We surf for as long as the group and waves work well, as we aren't limited to any time restraints.
Our courses have all been scheduled around small (neap) tides so we can surf without the pressure of the tide getting too low or too high.
Art Flow Session
We have a giggle working collaboratively on some artwork and then get down into our pastels, pencils and paper to find our flow.
Flow movement session
We get into the elements in a movement workshop to come into our bodies and release anything not serving us . We will be roaring. This is in collaboration with FAWE movement.
In Water Photography
One of our friends (or us) will come join us for a session in the water to capture the fun in the water and get some images of yourself with the beautiful angles and light. This is usually combined with our hype up session.

Our Coaching
Our maximum number per course is 8 people. With three experienced coaches. We like to keep it small so we can effectively help and advise everyone.
We have a mix of technical theories and open conversations about surfing. We believe improving your surfing isn't just in the technique but also in the mindset. Our ethos is to give you the permission to play and encourage learning from and supporting each other.
Our technical theories use demonstrations, videos, images, on land practice and in water exercises. We have created our curriculum through years of experience and critical thinking combining them in a way that's easier to understand and digest.
Sam has been coaching Longboarding for 5 years and we recently had guest coaches Emily Currie and Beth Leighfield who represented Britain in Longboarding.
